Jim Raynor, the well respected Captain of the flagship Hyperion in Blizzard Entertainment's real time strategy game "Starcraft." Raynor was often considered an honorable man and highly respected amongst his soldiers; said to always try to make the right choice, no matter how difficult the task at hand. Although the man is not the most intelligent his soldiers always rely on him to keep spirits raised and fill them with the desire to live every time his crew runs into tricky situations.
Raynor began as a marshall, defending the colony of Mar Sara against the enemy (The Zerg) until he and his militia were overwhelmed.
Raynor, still wanting to defend his planet from the Zerg went on to join Arcturus Mengsk's rebel crew, called the Sons of Korhal, however it soon becomes apparent that Mengsk is opposed the Confederates and destroys the capital city, and abandoning several rebels on the planet Char.
Raynor then sets off in an attempt to rescue the lost soldiers.
